Pierangelo Isernia currently a professor of International Relations and Research Methodology at the University of Siena in the Department of Political Science. The former director of the graduate school in Political Science , Ph.D in Comparative and European Politics, he teaches at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Additionally, he is working in the following capacities: Director of LAPS (Laboratorio di Analisi Politiche Sociali) at the University of Siena, the Project Coordinator with Maurizio Cotta) INTUNE (Integrated and United, A Quest for Citizenship in an ever closer Europe), funded under the 6th Framework Programme, (2005–2009), EuroPolis- A Polity-Making Project, funded under the 7th Framework Programme, a National Partner and Scientific Advisor of the European Consortium, European Citizens’ Consultation Project, funded by the DG COMM (2006–2007), the Scientific Advisor of the Transatlantic Trend Survey, funded by the US German Marshall Fund the Compagnia di san Paolo and partners (2002–present), a Scientific Advisor for the Transatlantic Survey on Immigration Survey, funded by the US German Marshall Fund and the Compagnia di san Paolo and partners (2007–present), and a Principal Investigator for the European Elite Survey, funded by the Compagnia di San Paolo (2006–present). Finally, he is a Member of the scientific advisory board of TNS Opinion. His research interests are in the area of public opinion and foreign policy, on which he has written several books and articles.
